Gayle Gowen Professional Bio
Gayle is an attorney with over 20 years experience practicing law. She is a registered patent attorney who has counseled numerous clients with regard to patent prosecution, management and licensing strategy. She has advised companies and inventors on patent preparation, due diligence, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, technology agreements, and patent litigation matters in the fields of materials science, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, commercial HVAC systems, and software.
Gayle also has over fifteen years experience representing clients in connection with commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, including litigation related to patent infringement and validity, breach of contract, toxic tort and environmental contamination and liability. Additionally, she has substantial experience defending class action securities lawsuits.
Gayle has represented several children before the Court of Common Pleas Family Division in connection with her volunteer work with the Support Center for Child Advocates in Philadelphia.
Gayle currently serves as a Lecturer in Law on Ethics and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Gayle received her B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, her M.S. from Carnegie Mellon, and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
